About JimR, Chaplain

I'm a 75-year-old guy, in October 2025, who worked in Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune for 28 years and now retired as of 31 Dec 16. I've worked in medical records, the Health Benefits Department, Billing, and the IT department and retired as the Personnel Security Manager for the hospital. I'm a musician and Corvette enthusiast. Yes, I have had two. I traded my second Corvette for a Harley Davidson Fat Boy in mid-summer 2019. Then in 2024, I traded to an HD FreeWheeler FLRT. I've already ridden the new one a thousand miles in 6 weeks. I'm also searching for a fresh new outlook on life with new spiritual insight among other things. I was ordained a minister in 20190202. I've become certified with the American Chaplaincy Association through Aidan University in June '21. Presently, I am a volunteer Chaplain with our county Sheriff's Office. I've found that with the unconditional love of my companion, Libby Rowe life is complete through God. She's a beautiful, vibrant, giving woman who gives her all in everything she puts her mind to do. She and I married on 24 July 2015. She was ordained in February 2022. She has a blog too called Under a Carolina Moon. Give it a visit.

I Feel. . .

I feel. . .well, how do I feel? I had a friend said once “with my fingas”. Okay, that was an attempt at humor. However, just how do I feel? Lot’s of people in this world are suffering. Shamefully I … Continue reading

Grow Up

A comparison I read this morning of how the world and Christians approach people is correct to a good degree. The world can be more forgiving than a lot of Christians. I commented that maturity is the key to turning … Continue reading

Connected vs Union

I have found someone to converse with that presents some pretty interesting questions. Today the question was posed on the likeness or difference of connection vs union. The following was my response. I can be connected to someone, but not … Continue reading

What Aging Does

As a young man I was always looking at the years I had to produce things that would make my mark on this earth and in this realm. I think all of us during our lives think this way when … Continue reading

Ebb and Flow

I’m not a prolific writer. I have to have unction. Either God gives me something to write or I have something in my spirit that is edging me to the keys on my laptop. Feeling the need to write is … Continue reading

Santa Claus?

1 Corinthians 13:11“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” This creature of one night … Continue reading

Today

Why that title? I don’t know. Let’s explore for a bit. I have nothing in particular to say, but I want to sit a moment and type whatever comes to mind. What I posted last has continued and I feel … Continue reading

Balancing Act

I’ve taken a break for a bit because of overwhelming issues that became a challenge to overcome. I’m not a quitter. Even so, I’m still dealing with it going on a couple of months now. I have done some research … Continue reading

Judgment

From The Daily Spurgeon: The blood of Jesus hath a mighty tongue, and the import of its prevailing cry is not vengeance but mercy. There is a judgment however that comes from violation (sin) of the principles set down in … Continue reading
