About JimR, Chaplain

I'm a 75-year-old guy, in October 2025, who worked in Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune for 28 years and now retired as of 31 Dec 16. I've worked in medical records, the Health Benefits Department, Billing, and the IT department and retired as the Personnel Security Manager for the hospital. I'm a musician and Corvette enthusiast. Yes, I have had two. I traded my second Corvette for a Harley Davidson Fat Boy in mid-summer 2019. Then in 2024, I traded to an HD FreeWheeler FLRT. I've already ridden the new one a thousand miles in 6 weeks. I'm also searching for a fresh new outlook on life with new spiritual insight among other things. I was ordained a minister in 20190202. I've become certified with the American Chaplaincy Association through Aidan University in June '21. Presently, I am a volunteer Chaplain with our county Sheriff's Office. I've found that with the unconditional love of my companion, Libby Rowe life is complete through God. She's a beautiful, vibrant, giving woman who gives her all in everything she puts her mind to do. She and I married on 24 July 2015. She was ordained in February 2022. She has a blog too called Under a Carolina Moon. Give it a visit.

The Good Ole Days

I’ve been watching just like anyone else and this is what’s likely going to happen. I was born on a farm. We were as poor as some of the dirt we planted in. We had a horse, mule, and a … Continue reading

Not Negotiable

When I went to church this morning I knew the service was to congratulate the graduates. I was one of those. I go to Atlanta, GA the 24th of June 2022 to walk the stage to receive my papers to … Continue reading

Listen

First things first. I’m a conversationalist. It’s a polite way of saying I like to talk. I can run down the path of a subject but expect rabbit trails. I am the poster guy for “Oh, look, there’s a squirrel” … Continue reading

Full Picture of God

I haven’t thought much about writing the past several days. I get this way sometimes. It doesn’t squelch my spirit in any way, though. I just have to give myself time to reset. I’m already into writing another book. I’m … Continue reading

The Book is Coming Soon

I have approved the cover and completed the third edit of the book God gave me for this day. People are succumbing to this terrible tragedy daily. This permanent solution to a temporary issue can be averted if only we … Continue reading

Well Water

I was washing up the dishes this evening when it occured to me this thought. I use only the surface of my being in daily tasks. There really is a very deep well inside of not only me, but every … Continue reading

Principle vs Emotion

Principle: The collectivity of moral or ethical standards or judgments. Emotion: A mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort and is often accompanied by physiological changes; a feeling. These two words describe how people react to situations … Continue reading

The Aging Process

Being 71 is a blessing, yet resigns me to my mortality. As I have written about in the past I was told I would not live past 60. No. Nothing about an incurable disease. My dad called it a genetic … Continue reading

Compulsion

Anyone that follows the Lord knows that He leads us every day to meet people after we have had time with Him each day. I don’t know how everyone reading my posts feels, but when I’m not doing something, I’m … Continue reading

Easter Weekend

This Easter Weekend came suddenly upon me quite unexpectedly. It seems ministry is being offering me opportunities I have not ever had. Since leaving the work-a-day world I’ve found God is increasingly given me people to minister to. One day … Continue reading
