About JimR, Chaplain

I'm a 75-year-old guy, in October 2025, who worked in Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune for 28 years and now retired as of 31 Dec 16. I've worked in medical records, the Health Benefits Department, Billing, and the IT department and retired as the Personnel Security Manager for the hospital. I'm a musician and Corvette enthusiast. Yes, I have had two. I traded my second Corvette for a Harley Davidson Fat Boy in mid-summer 2019. Then in 2024, I traded to an HD FreeWheeler FLRT. I've already ridden the new one a thousand miles in 6 weeks. I'm also searching for a fresh new outlook on life with new spiritual insight among other things. I was ordained a minister in 20190202. I've become certified with the American Chaplaincy Association through Aidan University in June '21. Presently, I am a volunteer Chaplain with our county Sheriff's Office. I've found that with the unconditional love of my companion, Libby Rowe life is complete through God. She's a beautiful, vibrant, giving woman who gives her all in everything she puts her mind to do. She and I married on 24 July 2015. She was ordained in February 2022. She has a blog too called Under a Carolina Moon. Give it a visit.

God’s Gift to Me

I have to say something about today. I don’t take any day for granted, but to share them with Libby Lewis Rowe is sufficient. She is God’s earthly representation of His love for me. She stands by me patiently giving … Continue reading

THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. – Heb 13:8 Tenses in Hebrew.  Enlightenment comes from understanding language and customs.  Our Western culture and English language differ from the Oriental thought and culture. There are four … Continue reading

WAR?

An acquaintance of mine on Facebook logged a post this morning that simply said “Putting all jokes aside, God please protect us from what is coming”. The following is my response to this person. I don’t press my beliefs on … Continue reading

End of a Year and End of a Decade

It seems like only yesterday I was sixty. That was 2010. Now approaching seventy I’ve found a plethora of changes have occurred not only in my mental state, but physical as well. No longer youthful, even as I presumed so … Continue reading

A Boy to a Man

I don’t remember writing much about my military time except perhaps in my autobiography. It struck me a couple of days ago how it affected me when my brother commented through a post on his FaceBook page that everyone should … Continue reading

STEADFASTNESS

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;  James 1:2 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them … Continue reading

Thoughts from the Past

Tonight I reminisce on what God did for Libby and me. This is a writing from January 2015. I had lived in my previous home on two acres of land, but I was getting to where the lawn was a … Continue reading

Wow

November is well on now, yet it has been a very eventful month. And not in a good way I might add. My cousin passed away suddenly on a Sunday morning. She had been dealing with cancer for a few … Continue reading

Stale Perception

This morning a young lady ministered in our morning service to start the October theme of Phobias. Phobias are simplistically a form of unnatural fear. Part of the explanation was directed into an area I found to explain something I’ve … Continue reading

I Could Be Angry, But I’m an Adult Male

An open door appeared to me for an area of ministry to disciple men. It’s with a major Christian organization. But after one phone call from their representative his words, not mine, are come back and see us in three … Continue reading
