About JimR, Chaplain

I'm a 75-year-old guy, in October 2025, who worked in Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune for 28 years and now retired as of 31 Dec 16. I've worked in medical records, the Health Benefits Department, Billing, and the IT department and retired as the Personnel Security Manager for the hospital. I'm a musician and Corvette enthusiast. Yes, I have had two. I traded my second Corvette for a Harley Davidson Fat Boy in mid-summer 2019. Then in 2024, I traded to an HD FreeWheeler FLRT. I've already ridden the new one a thousand miles in 6 weeks. I'm also searching for a fresh new outlook on life with new spiritual insight among other things. I was ordained a minister in 20190202. I've become certified with the American Chaplaincy Association through Aidan University in June '21. Presently, I am a volunteer Chaplain with our county Sheriff's Office. I've found that with the unconditional love of my companion, Libby Rowe life is complete through God. She's a beautiful, vibrant, giving woman who gives her all in everything she puts her mind to do. She and I married on 24 July 2015. She was ordained in February 2022. She has a blog too called Under a Carolina Moon. Give it a visit.

For There is No Condemnation

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. I’m finding out later in life deeper meaning to scripture. We’re all told by someone … Continue reading

Culmination

From the age of 13 I knew I was called to the ministry. I would lie in my bed at night and preach to the dark ceiling in my bedroom before turning over to sleep. I had not even made … Continue reading

Circumstance or Challenge

What do you do when confronted with circumstances that negatively affect you? I have another “c” word I use instead of “c”ircumstances. Try using “c”hallenge. With every circumstance comes a challenge to look for kinks in the armor of that … Continue reading

Change of Season

Ah! what a beautiful fall day!  I love the fall more than the other seasons.  Can’t pinpoint a specific reason why, but I could try. Spring has its hopes of new growth under the warmth of the early rising sun. … Continue reading

Paradigm Shift

Next week I will be sixty eight years old.  Life has truly been gracious to me even with the struggles that have been salted into it. Lately, I have sensed a change of direction coming.  Doors are slowly closing.  My … Continue reading

Just Have Patience

Earlier this week I filed for, I guess you call it, UIB. It’s unemployment benefits for folks out of work during the recovery after Flo. I can understand schools are going to be out for at least another week and … Continue reading
